CHRISTMAS 2015 NEWSLETTER

Christmas Greetings from Cow Creek,

I wanted to send out a “best wishes” for a joyous and blessed Christmas holiday season to you all and thank you for the support you have given over the years!

I have just returned from my 70th birthday tour and am in the process of recovering from an event filled weekend that started at the World’s Largest Honky-‐Tonk, Billy Bob’s, Texas in Fort Worth, the Floore’s Country Store in Helotes, and finishing up at The Redneck Country Club in Stafford, Tx., where we shared the bill and a packed house with the great CHARLIE PRIDE!  All the shows were packed with fans, friends and family that showed up to surprise me and share that milestone in my life.  I’m glad I have survived this long in life and am still able to perform and enjoy it so much.  To quote Hondo Crouch, the founder of Luckenbach, Texas, “having fun can be hard work….sometimes!”

I have hit the ground running and getting ready to finish out the year with our annual Christmas shows in Nocona, Tx. on Dec. 12th, a solo show in Tomball on Dec. 16th, then Christmas shows at The Broken Spoke on the 18th and at the Hill Country Christmas Ball in Luckenbach on the 19th.  We’ll be having friends over for fondue for Christmas Day, and then completing 2015 with a special day-‐after-‐Christmas show at the classic Poodie’s Hilltop Bar and Grill on Hwy 71 near Spicewood.  New Year’s Eve will find us at the Elks Lodge in San Antonio.  I hope you’ll join for one of these shows!

 RAISING A HAND FOR RETT

I had written in my last newsletter about the release of an awesome book that is now in print and ready to go.  It is titled, “RAISING A HAND”, and includes hundreds of photos taken by the master photographer, DAVE CLEMENTS.  I am pleased to be a part of a project that includes recent photos of such famous performers as PAUL MC CARTNEY, RINGO STARR, JIMMY BUFFET, BILLY JOEL, JACKSON BROWN, and KENT BLACK, just to drop a few names, who all personally volunteered to help with this very worthy labor of love. The purpose of the book is to raise money to fund research for the terrible disease known as RETT SYNDROME, which attacks young girl’s nervous systems, and is usually fatal.  Dave Cement’s partner in this project, Kevin Black, had a daughter that succumbed to this dread disease.  They have worked tirelessly for the last two years to bring this project to press.  It is now available, and I encourage you to go right now to your computer and google “RAISE A HAND” The Book; and order your copy.  Order several copies and give them for Christmas presents to your friends who are music fans who will love it, I am confident.  You have time to get it delivered before Christmas.  It’s a small price to pay for such a beautiful book that will inspire conversation and memories forever.

Allow me to offer my special gratitude to those of you in radio land who play my music and grace me with your presence and support at our shows around the country.  Especially I would like to thank you for your generous support for purchasing our music and products from the garypnunn website, and to those of you who download our music from iTunes.  This, as you probably know, has become the principle source for sales of our music these days.  Sales have remained strong and consistent and I urge you to continue to support us by downloading our CD’s and songs through this very convenient digital internet site.  It sustains our efforts and I hope you will continue to do so.  I am determined to make time to get back in the studio and record this next year.  I have a list of about 30 songs all of which meet my standard of quality for being relative to our lives for a very long time.  I’m working on my 4th generation of fans.  Perhaps you have seen the UTube  video on my Facebook page with the 3 year old singing, “I wanna go home with the armadillos” It’s priceless!

I will leave you with that and once again express my appreciation to my wife and partner, Ruth, my family, John Burris and the boys in the band, and all of you who have demonstrated your support over these many years.   I’m committed to doing it as long as it is fun.  I am blessed that I have been able to make a living and a life out of something that I enjoy, and that I have the aptitude and a small amount of talent for.  I have not always done things perfectly, but I have tried to set a decent example for those who might follow in my tracks.

God bless you all, God bless Texas, and God bless the USA!

HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

YOUR FRIEND FOR LIFE,

GARY P NUNN
